Barbara George
Barbara has called northern California home since 1980, after growing up in farming country in Ohio and living on the east coast of the U.S. A checkbook environmentalist for many years she has also pursued more active participation in organizations doing the work she believes is so vital. This involvement has taken the form of non-profit consulting projects sponsored by her business school alumnae association and political lobbying and environmental education through local environmental groups. Recently her growing concern about biodiversity has led her to non-profits focusing on this issue. By participating on the Board of Felidae Conservation Fund she combines her concern about biodiversity with a long standing awe of the cat as a species and the key role it plays in its habitat.
Barbara has been a corporate finance and accounting professional for many years in Bay area firms, primarily in the telecommunications industry. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and B.A. from the University of Cincinnati.
