From Jaffar ud Din
Dear Friends,
It is indeed very saddening to hear about the passing away, my dear
friend, Erik York and I appreciate your letting us here in the Chitral,
Pakistan, know about it. He was a great character, a caring friend and a
true professional. I spent about six weeks with him in Chitral Gol
National park, doing radio-collaring study of Snow leopard. We were
roommates. I learnt a lot from him.
Now, a great wildlife biologist is no more, but he lives on through his
works to inspire and guide us.
On behalf of Snow leopard Project and WWF Chitral team, I would like to
express our deep condolences to his family and friends.
May Allah bless his soul with eternal peace and grant courage and
fortitude to the bereaved family and friends to bear this irrevocable
loss. (Ameen)
