Jen Jelincic

Jen double-majored in Biology (Ecology, Evolution & Conservation) and Environmental Studies and wishes to attend graduate school. Having always been in awe with apex predators, she saw the importance of studying the species at the top of the pyramid, as there are fewer of them and thus their conservation is hugely important. Jen is interested in a top-down approach to help determine the overall health of ecosystems, especially because she has seen what happens when predators disappear from ecosystems.

Having worked with animals in captive as well as wild situations, she strives for a world where conservation is important enough to every individual that captive, ambassador animals won't be necessary. She grew up with a complete fascination for exotic animals, like those she saw in the zoo, but it wasn't until later that she truly realized amazing species were in her own backyard. With so many cats fighting extinction around the world and human overpopulation becoming more of an issue, now is the most important time to act on the behalf of all felid species.  Jen is excited to be a part of Felidae Conservation Fund's mission and finds immense value in their work.
