I was shocked and saddened to hear of Eric's sudden death so young. I grew up with Eric in Western Massachusetts in the gorgeous farm country around the little town of Shelburne. He and his sister Andrea lived on their farm down a dirt road that the school bus could only pass during late spring or early Fall because of mud and snow. The York kids were heavily involved with 4H and the animals and duties of their farm. Eric always, from when I first new him at age 12, exuded an easy charm, intelligence, and a love for nature and animals. I was so pleased that, like his sister, he went on to studies, which built on this early contact with and love for nature.

I am so very sorry to hear of this great loss, but proud to learn more about the great work he was doing out West.
