Ryan Young
Ryan has become increasingly passionate about the environment and wildlife. His most recent work was as a sustainability consultant at Blu Skye, where he worked with large companies and industry associations to help them understand their impacts on the environment and how to address them. He spent the majority of his time at Blu Skye working with the U.S. dairy industry on several projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, one of which involves generating renewable energy from dairy manure. Ryan's educational and professional background is in economics and business, and he is excited to apply this experience as a volunteer at Felidae.
Ryan and his wife Helena live in San Francisco, along with their two cats! Helena works in teacher education at the California Academy of Sciences, and was formerly a science teacher. Ryan considers her love of the natural world one of the biggest factors that helped him realize that he wants to spend his time helping to save nature rather than contributing to its further exploitation.
