Trish Carney

Trish is a wildlife photographer and a member of NANPA (North American Nature Photographer Association) and is a member of many wildlife conservation groups. She lives in San Rafael, CA. She received a B.F.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Colorado in Boulder and a M.F.A. in Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute.

Her inspiration is fueled by those ephemeral fleeting moments of wildness. And through her photography she shares her passion and awe for those wild encounters in hopes to inspire others to care about coexisting with wildlife and preserving open space. And when she is photographing, she sees the animals as individuals. Like humans, every wild animal is different and has unique behavior and characteristics. Her focus is to convey a sense of that animal's character and spirit.

She says, "My intent is to promote respect and enthusiasm for wildlife and for the environment that we share. And my photographs are offered as an invitation to care about wildlife and to care about what happens to them. We share the same path. Let's share it well and make room for wildlife.
