A Benefit for the Asiatic Cheetah

June 6, 2007 Nahal and Farhad Taleghani

Nahal Taleghani, a local Persian American, was moved into action after attending a previous Felidae Conservation Fund event, and she offered to bring some additional Iranian interest to this cause. This was the first she had heard about this critically endangered species in Iran, and she was compelled to contribute towards the project. Nahal and Farhad Taleghani opened their home and together we assembled a group of 80 interested Iranians and Americans to learn about this planet’s fastest land mammal. It was a delightful evening with delicious Persian food prepared by Nahal, and by Apadana Restaurant in San Rafael, CA. Zara McDonald presented on the Iranian cheetah study, and Felidae Conservation Fund, along with the generous contribution of Nahal and Farhad, raised more awareness and funds for the Asiatic Cheetah. We are extremely grateful for the Taleghanis’ passion and energy directed to this cause.
