We led a group of 28 enthusiastic kids and some interested parents on our inaugural mountain lion hike in Tennessee Valley, in Marin County. During the one-hour hike we instructed the kids on basic mountain lion ecology, as we guided them in identifying potential mountain lion signs within the immediate habitat. We outlined important behaviors for recreating safely in lion habitat. Kids learned to identify the signs that indicate mountain lion usage of the landscape, and the group enjoyed being out in nature and learning more about mountain lions.
